If you don’t see data for some of your application’s users on the world map, it may be because those users have private IP addresses. You can map such private IP addresses to real geographic locations at Settings > Geographical locations and thereby make the users visible on the map. You can even override settings for real client IP addresses if necessary for mapping purposes.
If you have numerous custom IP addresses to import, use the CSV import tool available at Settings > Geographical locations. A sample CSV file with complete instructions is available there for download.
Format the CSV file
- Use UTF-8 encoding.
- Use commas, semicolons, or tabs as delimiters.
- If a value contains the special character that is also used as your CSV delimiter, place the special character inside double quotation marks.
- If a value contains double quotation marks, place the value with quotation marks inside a second set of quotation marks (for example, “Krokus Cafe”).
Conflicting address ranges and invalid lines are skipped. Data from imported files overwrites existing address range values.
