How do I create an availability web check?

Availability monitoring gives you the option of creating web checks to monitor the availability and performance of your web application at regular intervals.

Create an availability web check

  1. Select Synthetic availability in the navigation menu.
  2. Click the Add web check button.
  3. On the Create a new web check page, type in the URL you want to monitor and either use the default name or add your own.
  4. Select and configure the profile of the emulated device.
  5. Click the Set up availability web check button.
  6. Configure your web check appropriately.
  7. Click Create web check. Within a few minutes, you'll receive monitoring data for your new web check.

View the analytics of an availability web check

  1. Select Synthetic availability from the navigation menu.
  2. From the list of the defined web checks, click the availability web check you want to examine. This will take you to the analytics page of the availability web check.

The analytics page of an availability web check provides details regarding, for example, the availability metrics and problems detected.

If you click the Browse button (...), you can select View report to view a report of the monitoring results for a duration that you can specify through the drop boxes appearing in the top right corner.

While on the reports' page, you can choose to receive a weekly or a monthly availability report and even share the report by clicking the Browse (...) button and selecting the respective option.

Disable or delete an availability web check

  1. Select Synthetic availability in the navigation menu.
  2. Click the web check you are interested in.
  3. Click the Browse (...) button and, depending on what you want to do, select either Disable web check or Delete web check.
